OUTDOOR MATCHES 2022 SUMMER SEASON

We have a special match on Wednesday 21st September in Memorial of Noel Roberts from Harpenden who sadly passed away before he could take up the role of President of Herts Bowls. The match against the St Albans & District Ladies Bowling Association was held on Saturday 9th July at Potters Bar BC. It was a lovely sunny morning and the match was played on an excellent green. The SADBA match against the President’s own club was held in the afternoon of Thursday 23rd June at North Mymms Bowls Club, with North Mymms taking the honours by only 8 points. Here is the Match Report: Result Sheet SADBA v NM (PRES OWN CLUB) 23-06-2022

The first of the SADBA outdoor matches this summer against London Scottish at Shire Park was on Saturday 14th May and resulted in a win for the District. The match report can be found here.

President's Welcome Message

This year, for the first time in our history, we do not have a President in post so matches and other functions during the year will each be led by one of our Officers. We do, however, have a Deputy President, Jan Southwell, who was our President in 2018. Jan is unable to fulfil full Presidential duties this year but looks forward to being our President in 2025.

Despite the fact that we have few new faces wanting to step forward to lead SADBA into the future, we have an exciting and promising year ahead, both outdoors and indoors. As usual our Inter-Club League matches are fully subscribed and our Competition entries are up once again reflecting the keen interest in the association and competitive bowling.

With a Deputy President in place our Bob Vise final will be at Jan’s own Club, Potters Bar, on August Bank Holiday Monday. Our Finals Day will once again be at Harpenden Bowls Club which proved to be an outstanding venue in 2023 with excellent facilities and support from the Club.
