FINALS ARRANGMENTS 2021

2021 FINALS

The SADBA League and Competition Finals matches took place at North Mymms Bowls Club, with the Bob Vise Trophy on the 30th August, Jones Cup on the 10th September and the main Finals Day for the remaining team and individual competitions on Saturday 11th September.

The Finals Day had excellent bowling and great sportsmanship.  It was a long day as several players and teams were in a number of competitions.  We had a good number of spectators, great support in organisation and hospitality from North Mymms members and it stayed dry!  All in all a day to remember.

The Results of all the matches can be found here.

2021 FINALS MATCH REPORTS

BOB VISE FINAL 30 August 2021 – MATCH REPORT

TOWNSEND V POTTERS BAR

We were all made very welcome by North Mymms BC members.  Although the weather was not very warm it did remain dry and it was a shame there were only a few spectators to enjoy the great team bowling on display. It was exciting because a good singles win by the Townsend Captain, Peter Thomson, put pressure on the other three elements. On two of the rinks – the Fours and Triples – their matches swung this way and that right through the whole morning. After the Singles and Pairs had finished it was 2 points to each Club-and 4 shots in favour of Townsend.

The Triples was exciting right to the end with a draw 16 shots all. That meant both teams had 3 points each and it could have been all down to shots difference. That just left the Fours with everyone watching intently as each wood went down the rink. Despite best efforts Potters Bar were unable to make up the difference and Townsend were worthy overall winners by 5 points to 3.

WELL DONE TOWNSEND AS WINNERS and WELL DONE POTTERS BAR for putting up a great fighting display.
