SADBA DISTRICT GALA

2021 ANNUAL CHARITY GALA

One of the highlights of the SADBA summer calendar is the Annual Gala that supports the President, Terry Atkinson, and his charity. Unfortunately  last year’s event was unavoidably cancelled but we have a date for 2021:   Thursday 26th August.   The Gala will be at the President’s Club of North Mymms.

Would SADBA Clubs please give him their support?  A poster to advertise the event and entry forms can be downloaded here.

All at North Mymms are mindful, of course, that while the unlock-roadmap appears to be on schedule it may be that social distancing requirements in some form could still be in force throughout the summer.  If so then this will be taken into account to determine the number of entries that can be safely accommodated in line with Government and Bowls England guidance.

Do enter soonest.  We are optimistic that it will go ahead and prove to be a great success, as it has been for many years, and raise a significant amount for the Dementia UK.

Bowls England Corona Virus Advice May 2021

BOWLS ENGLAND “RETURN TO PLAY” ADVICE

In the light of the Government’s intention to remove some of the pandemic restrictions from the 17th May, Bowls England have now issued “Return to Play: Step 3 Guidance”.  It can be downloaded here.  In summary, this removes a number of restrictions on formats and numbers for organised activity under Bowls England jurisdiction, permits car sharing, and allows spectators and  indoor hospitality.

This document supercedes “Return to Play: Step One” (published on  on 26th March (here) and “Return to Play: Step Two”,  issued on 9th April, (here).
