2021: The Way Forward

Officers of the Association recently consulted all Member Clubs about planning for 2021 in what are difficult and uncertain times. The resulting framework sets out the principles under which SADBA will operate over the next 12 months. President's Welcome Message

This year, for the first time in our history, we do not have a President in post so matches and other functions during the year will each be led by one of our Officers. We do, however, have a Deputy President, Jan Southwell, who was our President in 2018. Jan is unable to fulfil full Presidential duties this year but looks forward to being our President in 2025.

Despite the fact that we have few new faces wanting to step forward to lead SADBA into the future, we have an exciting and promising year ahead, both outdoors and indoors. As usual our Inter-Club League matches are fully subscribed and our Competition entries are up once again reflecting the keen interest in the association and competitive bowling.

With a Deputy President in place our Bob Vise final will be at Jan’s own Club, Potters Bar, on August Bank Holiday Monday. Our Finals Day will once again be at Harpenden Bowls Club which proved to be an outstanding venue in 2023 with excellent facilities and support from the Club.
