SADBA Competitions & Inter-Club Leagues 2021

The draws for all the SADBA Competitions and the schedule of matches for the Bob Vise, Jones Cup, Triples League and Club Rink League are now on-line.

Each Competition can be accessed from the drop-down menu under the Competitions tab.    Inter-Club matches are found in the menu under the Leagues tab.  Both menus also have links to details of the Closing Dates of Rounds and Playing Dates.  Under the Competitions tab there is also a Contacts List giving names and Club codes, although this information is also shown in the draws for each match.

We hope that our planned programme of Competitions and Inter-Club matches will be  played as normal but none of us know whether that will prove to be the case.    If not, then we will have to make any necessary adjustments nearer the start of the outdoor season.

2021:  The Way Forward

Officers of the Association recently consulted all Member Clubs about planning for 2021 in what are difficult and uncertain times.  The resulting framework sets out the principles under which SADBA will operate over the next 12 months.  It has been issued to all Clubs but can also be downloaded here:   SADBA Directional Statement for 2021.

SUMMER 2020 – Suspension of Bowling

ALL SADBA FIXTURES, COMPETITIONS AND LEAGUE MATCHES HAVE BEEN SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

The Association has suspended bowling activity during the corona virus crisis in order to be responsible to all our bowlers and to adhere to advice given by HM Government.  We know that bowls Clubs are also taking a similar stance.

The Competition and Inter-Club League cards have not been issued but 2020 SADBA Handbooks will shortly be available from your Club Delegate.

We will publish any changes here or bowlers may ask their Delegate, the  SADBA Secretary, Michael Woodhams, or any of the SADBA Officers.  Contacts details are on this website:  Officers under the Contacts tab and Delegates under the Clubs tab.

SADBA Tour to Devon – Cancellation

The President and Officers of the Executive have, regrettably, taken the decision to cancel the President’s tour to Devon which was planned for the last week of June.  This will not come as a great surprise in the current circumstances.

In due course, when monies have been returned to the Association, all bowlers who planned to go will receive a full refund.  Terry Atkinson is in the process of contacting them about refund arrangements.
